The 2013 version of the Nissan Leaf has been presented yesterday in Japan, here is a report on the updates.

Significant work has been done on the electrical components, they are now up to 30% more compact for a weight reduction of 10% and 80kg less in the end for this 2013 version while the trunk goes from 330 to 370litres.
Thanks to this reduction, but also to the new electric motor (which uses 40% less REE), an improved regenerative braking system and a heat pump (as in the Renault Zoé) autonomy grows by nearly 15% from 200 to 228km in JC08 cycle (hope 200km in NEDC)
Design and technology
Three trim levels S, X and G are now available with the arrival of 17-inch wheels on the G version and three new colors, dark metal gray and two new shades of white, also note the arrival of a new black interior.
Outside, the 2013 Nissan Leaf receives LED headlights and an "around view monitor" that allows to control the environment of the car when maneuvering.
Launch and price
Arrival in the United States and Europe is planned for the second quarter of 2013. For the entry-level S version, the price is announced at 3,349,500 JPY, a little more than € 32,000 at today’s exchange rate.
