Sbarro Intencity: first images and specs

As we announced this morning Sbarro (or more likely the Espera Sbarro school from Montbéliard, France) will reveal its first electric vehicle prototype at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

A vehicle that shows the evolution of customs and technology-with the possibility to present a highly desirable and credible electric sports-car! However, the Sbarro Intencity remains in line with the previous concepts, a sports-car with show-off design, a real pencil stroke on wheels.

The Intencity is announced as a concept of Urban Sports vehicle and the very first images/renderings make us eager to see more about it. They directly set the tone and put the concept in our Top5 of the most desirable urban electrified vehicles between the Renault Twizy, Audi Urban Concept, Opel Rak-e and Lumeneo Smera.

In just 12 weeks, the Sbarro Montbéliard school has built and developed this concept car that has a rather interesting specs sheet...

For the first time, Sbarro abandons combustion engines and fits an electric motor to a sporty concept: two Recaro bucket seats with harness, a 100kW motor (136hp) located at the rear powers the vehicle weighting only 980kg ... The concept receives 19” OZ lightweight wheels, and the LiFePO4 batteries located on the side of the vehicle allow a 180km range, last but not least, the Intencity is rear-wheel drive! Or how to make us dream with a "city" electric car that would better fit on a race track...

To be continued with the official reveal of the concept in just a week!
