(VIDEO) Kia GT: set for production with hybrid powertrain?

Finally we have the opportunity to talk about this beautiful creation from Kia.

GT uninhibited, this concept car presented by Kia at the 2011 IAA is a real head turner.
Unfortunately we had not wrote about it until now because its engine was too classic/polluting to get a place in our columns.


By offering a car with stylish and dynamic lines that incorporates the new grille of the brand, the Kia GT is not afraid to be a sexy sedan, sleek and muscular, a halo car for the brand that customers could be proud of, this was Peter Schreyer, Kia’s design director, purpose.

After the revelation of the concept announced with a 3.3liter 395hp V6 turbo, Kia now says that if the GT sees production it is likely to be equipped with a four cylinder or hybrid technology...

An announcement that is not surprising since the brand already has the technology and that it is offered in the Optima Hybrid.


The engine of the GT would probably be derived from the one of the Optima that develops 206hp and 265Nm, to offer interesting performances but with fuel consumption and emissions figures more in line with the times ...
However it is not confirmed whether the car will remain, like the concept back-wheel drive, or front-wheel drive like the Optima ...
